Our Architecture team has been working alongside the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo (HASLO) to design much-needed affordable housing in the City of Arroyo Grande.
The 700 North Oak Park Project is a mixed-use project that contains 64 units of affordable housing, making it the largest approved affordable housing development in the city’s history. The units are geared toward those with an annual income at or below 80 percent of SLO County’s median income, helping to moderate that vast need for affordable housing in the community.
The project will also include 1,178 sf of commercial, a1,342 sf community space, along with an outdoor recreation space, barbeque area, and children’s play area. The project also sits on a challenging site, so the team worked diligently to ensure they could accomplish the desired density and amenities for the site.
The project came before the Arroyo Grande City Council in 2020 during its pre-application phase. Last spring, Architectural Review Committee discussed the proposed development and it was approved by the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission thereafter. The project is being submitted for plan check at the end of February, and once approved we can expect construction to commence in 2023.
