Westview Village Senior Apartments
These 50 dwellings for seniors are projected to be the third phase of redevelopment. The Westview Village overall project involves the redevelopment of 180 existing public housing units as a new neighborhood of 286 affordable rental apartments for families and seniors, 34 for-sale townhomes, and 4 community buildings on a 20 acre site in Ventura. The project as a whole is designed to achieve LEED Neighborhood Development and each building is projected for LEED Platinum certification.
The senior building includes a wing that serves as a community hub including meeting facilities, educational rooms, property management offices, senior activity room, and a roof-top garden. A park is located adjacent to the community areas will provide an outdoor theater and playground which aligns with the adjacent block park with barbecue picnic areas and a multi-use play court.
