The Paige Lane Neighborhood Park is a 14-acre park bisected by Paige Lane and bordering Conejo Creek and bike path. Funded by a partnership between Conejo Recreation and Park District and the City of Thousand Oaks, this project fulfills the vision of the City’s master plan, adding value to the surrounding area by providing a place for recreation for neighborhood residents. The park includes a multi-use court, sand volleyball court, playground, parking lot, solar-powered restroom, fitness stations, and three shaded picnic areas with BBQ pits.

The project pays tribute to the Chumash people with a Chumash-themed playground featuring a hut and canoe that looks as if it is floating along a river that flows from the playground slides to a dry cobble creek. Multi-use bike and equestrian trails border the park and connect to a greater trail system in the Conejo Valley. The park was designed with drought-tolerant landscaping and water-efficient irrigation system. Due to the current drought conditions, approximately 3-acres have been prepared for future turf fields and irrigation once the City deems the drought conditions and water supply are stable.

All existing trees were preserved and existing boulders were utilized throughout the project and incorporated into the improved drainage swale. Fitness stations are connected by pathways made of permeable asphalt that loop around the park and help to improve stormwater drainage. The use of materials including split rail fences and gabion pilasters frame the entrances to the park and creates an aesthetic that fits in with the natural landscape.
